We’re excited to share our latest single, Starlite Motel—a song rooted in a real place and a real moment.
Just off Highway 52 in Mount Airy sits the actual Starlite Motel. And just a mile up the road, in a quiet cabin surrounded by woods, this song came to life one night while the crickets were chirping and the highway hummed in the distance.
“Starlite Motel” is a song Charles and I wrote at the cabin, just a mile up the road from the actual Starlite Motel on Highway 52 in Mount Airy. It’s about what it takes to really grow—to go through something heavy and come out the other side with a deeper capacity to love and appreciate what’s in front of you. The song came together on a quiet night, with the highway humming in the distance and crickets chirping outside—just trying to catch something honest. It’s one of those tracks that felt like it already existed, and we just had to sit still long enough to hear it.
The track blends memory and motion—motel rooms and late-night reflections, missed chances and second winds. It’s about how time slips by, how we sometimes check out before we ever really check in, and how love can deepen after the dust has settled.
We hope you’ll take a listen. Whether you’re driving late with the windows down or just sitting still for a minute, maybe you’ll hear a little piece of your own story in it.
